Bemidji State University is seeking to fill 4 full-time, probationary (tenure-track) nursing faculty positions. At least one position will focus on nursing care of adults and at least one on nursing of families, mothers, and children. Teach courses in the prelicensure nursing program. May also teach courses in the RN-BS completion program. This hybrid program includes online and occasional travel to distance campuses (3 times/semester). The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that would include, but are not limited to general on campus classroom and lab/simulation nursing courses, and on site clinical nursing courses focusing on the adult and geriatric populations. Some possible content areas include: professional nursing, nursing research, evidence based nursing practice, Medical / surgical nursing, mental health nursing, community health nursing, nursing leadership and management, research, adult and geriatric nursing care.
Contribute to a program of scholarship within the discipline, student advising, service to the University and community, and other associated faculty duties.
Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University's shared fundamental values: Civic engagement and leadership, International and multicultural understanding, Belief in the power of the liberal arts, and Environmental stewardship.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a collegial and supportive environment that advances the goals of the department, including curriculum development, assessment, and other departmental governance activities.
Assist with programmatic accreditation
Master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution at the start of employment and current enrollment in a terminal degree program (DNP or PhD in nursing or a related field).A doctoral degree (DNP or PhD in nursing or a related field) is required for tenure.
Recent nursing practice OR clinical teaching experience with an adult or geriatric patient population.
Has or is eligible for MN RN licensure.
Candidates must meet background study requirements according to MN Statutes and clinical facilities' requirements
Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, or PhD in nursing or an associated health care, leadership, or education field.
Experience teaching in baccalaureate nursing education.
Nursing practice OR clinical teaching experience in an adult acute care setting within the last five years.
Experience with use of simulation in prelicensure nursing education.
Skills/ability to design and deliver online courses with Desire to Learn (D2L) software.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
Demonstrated experience working with and/or interest working with students and colleagues from multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds and using culturally responsive pedagogy and practice
