Under the general supervision of the Parking Services Manager, the Transportation Program Coordinator facilitates and implements campus transportation goals, develops and oversees alternate transportation programs and services in a manner that supports sustainability goals, and provides oversight for the related practices, processes, planning and service administration. Incumbent will work closely with other campus departments, student organizations, community partners, and contractors to develop and promote transportation programs; and also facilitate grant writing related to alternate transportation programs and sustainable transportation, manage on-going marketing and promotions, and participate in the President’s Sustainability Committee. ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and provide leadership for the growth of campus transportation services and programs.
Primary campus contact for the day-to-day operations and contract management of the following campus transportation services, and others as they are developed:
Monterey-Salinas Transit bus service
Campus Shuttle services
Car Share (Zipcar)
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Bicycle Share and bicycle registration
Emergency Ride Home program (TAMC)
Ensure compliance of campus transportation services with campus and CSU Policy, State and Federal laws and regulations, the Campus Master Plan, and sustainability goals.
Support department manager in procurement of expanded or additional transportation services.
Adhere to a budget that includes basic annual operating and marketing expenses.
Develop and maintain program guidelines and ‘how-to’ material for each campus transportation service.
Respond directly to operational issues and complaints regarding campus transportation services, including maintaining the email@example.com email account.
Develop and oversees marketing and outreach for campus parking and transportation services, programs, events and campaigns.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with partners across the campus staff, faculty and student spectrum, as well as external agency officials to ensure effective and timely communication of program awareness and updates.
Create and distribute promotional and informational marketing materials to engage the campus community about transportation services.
Plan and host transportation promotional and educational events and workshops.
Ensure a tabling and/or presentation presence at major campus events.
Maintain the Parking Services website, including transportation service content.
Assist in parking and transportation day-to-day service change announcements.
Develop and maintain an innovative umbrella program brand for campus sustainable transportation services, under which these services can be marketed and incentivized for the campus community.
Participate in local and regional transportation-related workshops creating and managing relationships with outside entities.
Collect, analyze and share data to support transportation services.
Participate in Parking Services strategic planning.
Support parking stall count and occupancy data collection and analysis.
Maintain and evaluate data sources provided by external transportation service providers
Conduct an annual campus-wide Travel Survey to collect transportation behavior and usage, and assist in federal, state or local transportation data reporting.
Visually observes campus transportation conditions on a daily basis.
Routinely summarizes transportation service data usage for internal planning, as well as campus wide awareness purposes.
Creates and follows a five-year business plan for development and expansion of campus transportation services.
Establish and maintain regular communication with other CSU transportation and parking staff, and researches other campus examples to learn and implement leading industry standards and best management practices.
Participate in project and planning meetings with key objectives and long-term goals for transportation elements lead by Campus Planning and Development.
Research external grants and campus funding opportunities to support campus transportation services and programs.
Facilitates RFP and grant writing related to sustainable transportation, based on identified service needs.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned by the department director, manager, or supervisor.
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

This position will have a duty to report to the Campus Title IX Officer information pertaining to victims of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating/domestic violence, and stalking as required by CSU Executive Order 1095.
This position has been designated as a sensitive position with:
responsibility or access/possession of building master or sub-master keys for building access; and
This position is required to comply with confidentiality requirements outlined in the Department of Education’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy and California’s Educational Code Chapter 13 regarding sensitive student issues.
This position is a designated position in the California State University’s Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file a Statement of Economic Interest subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority, will be required to participate in annual training, and to immediately forward to the Clery Compliance Officer all reports of Clery Act crimes brought to their attention.
Must possess and maintain a valid license to drive in the State of California, pass the Defensive Training Class, and be insurable under the University’s liability coverage.
May require occasional evenings and/or weekend work.
Office environment with standard equipment and tasks. Position requires working at a computer and desk for extended periods of time. Requires travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.
Compensation and Benefits:
