Is responsible for the operations of BHCS and is accountable to the Bishop of the Sioux City Diocese through the BHCS Board of Education in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools. The President is expected to abide by the established policies and procedures of BHCS’s Governing Board of Education in alignment with the Sioux City Diocese.
The President, as the Chief Executive/Administrative Officer of BHCS, is responsible for the operations of BHCS, functions as the coordinator of the administrative team and must be an active, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. The President will support the religious and academic components of BHCS’s mission, promoting the Catholic identity of BHCS to the internal and external community. The President will work to strengthen BHCS’s academic reputation with responsibility for sound fiscal management of the institution in collaboration with the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools, establishing annual and long-term strategic goals and objectives. The President will work with the Board of Education and administrative staff members to maintain a program of excellence within budgetary constraints, overseeing annual operation budget and Advancement functions. The President is ultimately responsible for all actions taken and decisions affecting BHCS, including the educational programs and the direct and indirect supervision and development of all BHCS employees. The President will serve as the primary spokesperson for BHCS and will articulate the philosophy and goals of BHCS to the community. The President will communicate with targeted publics and individuals such as advancement supporters and donors, alumni, parishioners and others to promote the Vision and Mission of BHCS.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Remain a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Requires Bachelor’s degree with business emphasis and general knowledge of the education system or Administrative Education Licensure with strong business acumen preferred.
Effective leadership experience with 5-7 years previous experience at a secondary school, college or corporation.
Above average business acumen including fiscal processes/reports which enhance the ability to handle fiscal responsibilities; strategic planning and strong budget management skill.
