The position is for an operations analyst in Missile and Fire Control’s (MFC) Strategy and Business Development organization located in Grand Prairie, TX.
The analyst will perform operations analysis, with wide application of principles, theories and concepts, as either study lead or team participant on projects examining future endeavors of the company. In doing so, the analyst will apply MFC’s 8-step analysis process to obtain traceable, supportable results that answer the overarching question in each case.
The analyst will identify, and, if necessary, obtain and run models, simulations and other tools required to conduct such analyses.
The analyst will be a Subject Area Domain Lead in an appropriate area based on the individual’s knowledge and experience.
The Subject Area Domain Lead will use that knowledge to serve as a consultant and, as appropriate, participate in analysis activities involving the subject area. In addition, the analyst will have the opportunity to learn and work the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process, influence DoD programs, and participate in and/or conduct wargames.
Basic Qualifications: Must have a Top Secret clearance.
Bachelors degree with 14 years of professional experience in Operations Analysis or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters Degree.
Degree must be from an accredited college in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or Management Science.
Experience in computer-based analytical tools and office applications (especially MS Office suite).
Proficient in at least one computer programming language.
Knowledge and experience in preparing and delivering oral and written presentations. Desired Skills: Advanced degree from an accredited college in Operations Research, Operations Analysis, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of military operations, tactics, and organizations; operational or analytical experience with USN or USAF Strike, DCA, and OCA missions is highly desired.
Detailed knowledge of Mathematics, Statistics, Design of Experiments, Physics, or Engineering.
Modeling and simulation experience.
Experience/knowledge of major combat simulations and models.
Knowledge/experience in computer programming, such as designing/building applications, modules and/or graphical user interfaces (GUIs) using languages such as C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, MATLAB, etc.; the Linux operating system; running/interfacing with distributed simulations.
