The candidate is part of the Asia feature team within Global Payments Strategy organization responsible for implementing payments product capabilities and external clearing integration for a strategic payments application. Primary focus will be to support the migration of clearing flows to the target architecture and to implement new clearing capabilities so as to support business expansion and increased volumes.
Understand end-to-end requirements of clearing flows and enhance respective functional components in the payments processing stack to deliver to the desired capabilities
Analyze clearing specifications and perform mapping of the respective payment component data models to the external clearing formats
Ensure messaging workflows meet the clearing service level requirements especially in real-time clearings
Partner with the current payment application teams to understand the as-is capability and ensure baseline requirements are met in the target state
Work with upstream and downstream partner application teams to design and implement robust communication interfaces that is required for payment processing
Produce design documentation showing component level flows and integration mechanisms
Ensure state transitions are clearly defined and documented, and conforms to data standards
Participate in product backlog reviews with product owner to understand requirements and priorities
Understand data migration requirements and produce automated migration scripts to support a robust and repeatable cutover process
Develop efficient and highly readable code and actively refactor code; build for ease of testing and maintenance
Ensure comprehensive unit/automated test coverage for all features in place of manual testing
Actively participate in initiatives to improve delivery quality and efficiency
Work closely with the architecture team to ensure that design/deliverables are in line with architecture standards and roadmap
Train Production Management team on post go-live support requirements
Provide post-implementation and migration support
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
At least 7 years of experience in Java enterprise application development, preferably delivering high-performance, mission critical applications
Min 5 years' experience in relational database design; database performance tuning experience will be a strong advantage
Experience in working with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra
Knowledge in developing microservices and RESTful APIs
Working experience with messaging and pub-sub platforms such as UM and Kafka
Good understanding of payments data models; familiarity with the ISO20022 standard is an advantage
Familiar with UNIX operating system and scripting
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills
