The Division of Imaging, Diagnostics, and Software Reliability (DIDSR) in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an entry-level researcher for projects involving the characterization of medical imaging systems. This project will focus on establishing standard test methods for whole-slide imaging scanning devices used in pathology. The candidate will assist with developing test methods and instruments for evaluating the technical performance of whole-slide imaging scanners and viewers. The candidate will also participate in writing journal publications. The selected candidate will join an active research group in regulatory science areas in experimental and computational medical imaging in the White Oak campus in Silver Spring (see link below) within the metropolitan DC region with multiple opportunities for further training and collaborations within and outside the FDA. Candidates for this training fellowship administered by ORISE must undergo a background investigation and need to have resided in the United States for at least three of the past five years.
