Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm, is seeking a Director of Information Security & Data Governance. This candidate works independently and under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, to oversee and coordinate efforts for information security and information risk management associated operations to protect data from unauthorized access. This includes managing a team of security professionals and analysts responsible for security procedures, assessments and operations aligning to established and emerging governance, risk management and compliance measures. The position will directly interact with other teams of Information Security and Information Technology professionals to coordinate the protection and compliance of information. The Director of Information Security must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in an information technology-related role containing cybersecurity and risk management components.
Minimum of 8 years of information technology related experience; 5 of which were in a cybersecurity role.
Extensive experience administering and creating programs for risk-based security assessment programs related to cyber-related information systems and privacy.
Demonstration of solid communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent documentation and policy drafting skills and experience
Advanced computer literacy and network technology expertise
Strong writing, communication, collaboration and organizational skills
Maintaining the ability to work under stress and multitask are essential
Develop, implement, manage, or evaluate policies and methods to safeguard electronically stored information located at or transmitted to/from the firm. This includes electronically stored or transmitted files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
Develop, conduct, support, or assist in on-going risk assessments, reviews, internal evaluations of the overall effectiveness of information security related processes.
Analyze, test and evaluate information security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvements.
Collaborate with other departments and work closely with the firm’s Information Technology Systems & Security Operations Center (SSOC) teams, assisting with compliance of security best practices and policies, including system monitoring, vulnerability management and regulating information access in order to safeguard information contained in computer files.
Periodically review and collaboratively update incident response plans and policies based on prioritized assessed risks to mitigate potential consequences.
Direct or participate in emergency management and contingency planning.
