The Student Support Specialist II supports the front desk of the Financial Aid office and is the initial contact for all visitors, phone and email inquiries. This position assess the needs of applicants, students and/or parents and provides appropriate solutions and follow up. In addition, this position will assist with the processing of financial aid documents, reviewing and evaluating data and data entry.
Perform a variety of clerical services including answering phone calls, office emails, scheduling, data entry, office filing and organization, and reception.
Communicate in person, electronically or in writing with applicants, students and/or parents to convey and exchange information and documents; refer to others as necessary.
Review, analyze, evaluate, process and monitor information, records, transcripts, applications and/or other data in relation to student programs, requirements, standards, policies, procedures and regulations.
Provide assistance and various levels of advice and information to constituents on a variety of related matters, including financial aid qualifications and availability.
Assist with admissions, registration, recruitment and/or other related activities and processes
Responsible for processing financial aid documents and data entry
Advise students, prospective students and parents regarding financial aid.
Administer and process private loan applications
Prepare and maintain appropriate allied records, files and information.
Review and process verification forms
Scan and link documents to appropriate folders and students
Supervision is received from the Manager of Student Support Services or from a departmental designee.
Functional supervision may be exercised over clerical support and/or student staff.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
