Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director for the Department of Outpatient Services at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Director of Outpatient Services position is to provide administrative direction and oversight to assigned programs on both the Newark and Piscataway campuses, to ensure program integrity and fiscal viability for all assigned programs. Responsible for ongoing program development and compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensures that services provided are consistent with the Vision, Values and Mission Statements of University Behavioral Health Care. Effectively manages coordination with other University Behavioral Health Care departments and community and state agencies. Acts as a positive role model for staff and works effectively to grow services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Establishes clear, measurable objectives for service and ensures that program meets or exceeds objectives.
Directs oversight and coordination of all research initiatives.
Assures accuracy of all program records and logs.
Monitors medical case record compliance to adhere to all regulatory requirements.
Prepares narrative and summary reports, as requested by supervisor.
Interprets and complies with all regulations and professional practices governing program services and operations.
Plans, trains and supervises the work of others engaged in program supervision.
Ensures that supervisory level staff members and the assigned programs comply with all state and RBHS standards.
Monitors staff performance and timely Performance Evaluations and ongoing staff training and development.
Collaborates effectively with internal and external service providers, staff members, referral sources and program funders.
Writes grant proposals to expand services and to develop new programs.
Ensures that grant-funded programs meet their respective contracted levels of service and outcome goals.
Maintains knowledge of trends and development in the mental health field and regularly attends and participates in in-service meetings and other designated training events that will enhance clinical skills and maintain best practices.
Represents the department in the community and speaks before groups on matters related to assignment.
Budgets resources effectively and manages services within established budgets as measured by the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Ensures that all documentation meets University Behavioral Health Care, The Joint Commission, and respective licensing standards and regulations and that all is completed within the required time frames.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of Master's Degree in a related mental health field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible postgraduate experience in related mental health work, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Experience with treatment, supervision, and program development within a behavioral healthcare organization.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Frequent time spent driving to various locations throughout New Jersey for meetings, trainings, etc.
