Gannon University invites applications for an Assistant Professor/teaching-faculty member to serve as Technical Director/Designer in support of the university’s BA in Theatre Design and Technologies - as well as the Schuster Theatre’s main-stage production season. The successful candidate will teach six credits per semester in undergraduate design and production, advise majors and minors in areas of stage management and design, mentor and supervise student design work, and design, supervise, and coordinate student/guest designers for the school’s main-stage performance season, manage house operations for productions, and other production-related functions. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
Requirements include: M.F.A. in an area of design (costume, lighting, scenic, or hybrid design) or technical direction required. Professional experience in theatre, at least one year of college teaching experience with demonstrated strength in effective teaching, leadership skills, collegiality and a commitment to collaborative process preferred.
