Human Resources provide support and strategy at every level of Morgan Stanley's business. It helps firm and business unit management with strategic direction in employee recruiting, retention, development and compensation. HR generalists partner with individual business units to deliver services in data analysis, employee relations, compensation analysis and performance management. Other HR teams are product -focused, specialising in compensation, benefits, recruiting, reporting and learning and development services.
Role Profile This role will lead the EMEA Corporate Compensation team and be the primary subject matter expert for regulatory remuneration matters. This team are responsible for producing all remuneration filings, as well as overseeing all aspects of compensation relating to Material Risk Takers/Identified Staff across EMEA.
Regulatory Filings - Lead on producing and checking all Regulatory filing tables and country-specific disclosures for EMEA - Liaise with the Regulatory Policy team to ensure Morgan Stanley is reporting correct and timely data to Regulators - Utilise deep regulatory knowledge to propose appropriate solutions/responses to Regulator queries - Maintain strong audit trail of all processes and decisions to successfully navigate annual audit
Material Risk Takers/Identified Staff Oversight - Manage compensation changes to the MRT/Identified Staff population throughout the year to ensure ongoing compliance - Lead the quantitative identification and annual fixed pay review process for MRTs/Identified Staff - Coordinate severance accruals with NY and Financial Controllers - Keep up-to-date with new legislation and assess impact from a compensation perspective
Team Management - Manage the team planning calendar and daily activities of at least two direct reports - Build and maintain strong relationships with the Global Compensation teams in NY and Asia - Define team standards and provide appropriate feedback in a timely fashion - Provide subject matter leadership to senior HR stakeholders and Business Units
Skills required (essential) - Thorough attention to detail with excellent prioritisation skills (can handle multiple projects at the same time) - Able to work with complexity and ambiguity to propose logical solutions to problems - Reliable and meticulous with high standards for client service - Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written - Experience of direct interaction with clients and comfortable discussing / presenting materials - Excellent analytical skills (advanced Excel) – able to develop meaningful reports from multiple data streams - Inquisitive, composed and self-confident (not afraid to ask questions or speak-up) - Thrives under pressure and enjoys a fast paced, dynamic environment
