Human Resources provide support and strategy at every level of Morgan Stanley's business. It helps firm and business unit management with strategic direction in employee recruiting, retention, development and compensation. HR generalists partner with individual business units to deliver services in data analysis, employee relations, compensation analysis and performance management. Other HR teams are product -focused, specialising in compensation, benefits, recruiting, reporting and learning and development services.
Role Profile This role will be a key Reward Business Partner to the HR Coverage teams, advising on a wide range of compensation matters throughout the year. The Business Unit Compensation team manages the monthly accruals for base and variable pay.
In addition to playing a critical role in the execution of year-end processes, the team are also responsible for drawing insight from market data. Focus on building effective relationships and delivering an exceptional client service to HR Coverage will be critical for this role.
Compensation Data and Accruals - Work with Global Compensation teams in NY and Asia to accurately commit monthly and year-end accruals - Develop strong expertise in the MS compensation systems to advise on the impact and execution of pay decisions - Monitor changes and consult with HR Coverage to ensure data held in the systems is up to date
Market Data - Manipulate wide-ranging data to identify areas of focus across Morgan Stanley's EMEA locations - Act as an strategic advisor to HR Coverage, proactively sharing insight and modelling appropriate solutions - Manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers to obtain intelligence relating to external compensation practices
Process Improvement - Identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve processes to create more capacity for innovation - Collaborate with HR Coverage and the HR Service Centre to enhance the available suite of self-service tools
Skills required (essential) - Exceptional stakeholder management skills – reliable and proactive with high standards for client service - Experience of direct interaction with clients and comfortable discussing / presenting materials - Excellent analytical skills (advanced Excel) – able to develop meaningful reports from multiple data streams - Able to work with complexity and ambiguity to propose logical solutions to problems - Thorough attention to detail with excellent prioritisation skills (can handle multiple projects at the same time) - Experience of people management – able to manage work flow, delegating and motivating effectively - Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written – capable of telling a succinct story using PowerPoint - Inquisitive, composed and self-confident (not afraid to ask questions or speak-up) - Thrives under pressure and enjoys a fast paced, dynamic environment
