The Quality Engineer is responsible for support and improvement of the Low Voltage Drives and Printed Circuit Board manufacturing operations. This includes daily line support providing issue resolution, quality planning, process audits and proactive continuous improvement activities to insure quality levels meet internal and external customer expectations. The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading efforts to monitor, analyze and improve Mequon Operations metrics for quality. They are also an active participant in directing, controlling, and analyzing the operations Quality Management Systems.
Drive efforts to improve internal defects per unit (DPU), external Parts Per Million (PPM), Reduce Scrap and improve overall quality in the manufacturing operations.
Establish appropriate inspection\\test methods and equipment to validate product and process characteristics.
Develop and evaluate processes using capability studies, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits with the objective or improving process performance and capability.
Responsible for investigating product quality issues providing appropriate containment.
Uses standard problem solving techniques and tools to lead the team to identify root cause and develop corrective actions.
Maintain an effective working relationship with business units, customer service, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, and production associates.
Prepare, maintain, and present quality reports to multiple levels of the organization. Readouts must include identified root cause, documented corrective actions and a clear path to resolving issues.
Participate with the team to develop, modify, maintain, and follow quality standards as established by the Rockwell QMS system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
Provide direction to Quality Assurance technicians, and training to manufacturing associates in quality-related topics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
