Westat is seeking a qualified individual to help coordinate epidemiological studies, analysis and reports, the management of related datasets, and coordinating agendas and meetings across teams. This position is based at the client site in Rockville MD,
The contract analyst will perform a variety of analytical and program coordination tasks to promote and facilitate activities and effective planning.
Assist with the planning and implementation of qualitative and quantitative scientific analyses of a research portfolio to identify research gaps and areas of opportunity. Prepare presentations, reports, tables, and graphs, as appropriate, to present information.
Provide support for staff as they perform evaluations of common metrics of impact for prevention research.
Provide support for coordinating prevention research activities including, preparation of presentations/talking points, agendas, meeting materials, and monitoring action items. Attend meetings, as necessary
Provide support for the conduct literature reviews to examine the current state of prevention research and prepare clear and concise reports summarizing and synthesizing the body of work.
Support the development of training in prevention science methods. Support webinar series, online courses, and other online resources.
Support the ongoing development and implementation of electronic directories of data. Activities include but are not limited to searching current literature to identify and invite prevention researchers to add their information to the relevant directory and vetting entries for appropriateness and completeness.
Assist with the development of innovative strategies for promoting the use of prevention research and methods-related tool. Activities include the development of training programs, organizing and maintaining up-to-date distribution lists to facilitate communication about these tools.
A Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, or related health science and at least 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have experience facilitating collaboration across research groups, analytical skills and experience in support of epidemiological or health-related research studies. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; detail-oriented and work well in a team environment.
