The Assistant Dean of Students has responsibility for overall management of the Fraternity & Sorority Life Program with specific focus on growing the community and ensuring that members enhance campus life. The Assistant Dean has a high level of responsibility for ensuring excellent that fraternity and sorority members and alumni volunteers succeed in scholastic achievement, leadership and membership development, crisis response, and chapter operations. The Assistant Dean has departmental, divisional, and institutional responsibilities concerning student success. This position regularly collaborates with the Office of Residence Life concerning conduct/crisis issues and the creation of intentional living-learning environments within University-owned residential facilities that house 426 undergraduate students. Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Administer the Fraternity & Sorority Life Program including, but not limited to, overseeing the advisement of and support for all governing Greek councils, boards, and teams; facilitating the expansion process whereby new social fraternities and sororities obtain University recognition; coordinating registration renewal and data collection for existing fraternities and sororities; and conducting regular meetings with alumni volunteers, (inter)national headquarters constituents, as well as chapter leaders to celebrate successes and identity areas for improvement.
Manage comprehensive chapter support initiatives through regular advising and outreach concerning scholastic achievement, recruitment or intake, financial management, student engagement, leadership skill acquisition, membership development, harm reduction, facility management, and student retention.
Select, train, and supervise one program coordinator and assigned graduate interns.
Directly advise assigned governing Greek councils through mentoring relationships with student officers, overseeing formal recruitment and intake events, assisting student leaders to develop and monitor annual budgets, planning and executing programs and events, and supporting/staffing council functions (e.g., Greek Weekend, induction ceremonies, member development programming, late night events, as well as scholarship, service/philanthropy, and leadership programs).
Direct the advisement and support of all other governing Greek councils, boards, and teams along with the execution of leadership and service programs as well as Fraternity & Sorority Life marketing initiatives (e.g., website development and program brochures).
Collaborate with staff from the Office of Residence Life to provide a premier experience for students who reside in on-campus fraternity and sorority housing; provide direct crisis response support to chapters and students; and adjudicate assigned cases involving violations of the Code of Student Conduct.
Create, update, collect, and retain required forms and contact information (including accurate chapter rosters) for all councils, boards, teams, and chapters; oversee the management of the fraternity and sorority community’s administrative functions on the student engagement platform; manage the creation and distribution of the fraternity/sorority semester report; and evaluate chapter operations through the Greek Community Standards of Excellence program.
Manage the Fraternity & Sorority Life Program budget and assist the Associate Dean of Students with broader budget development and management as directed; identify and implement a strategic plan including action items, key performance indicators, retention initiatives, and the incorporation of University learning outcomes; and coordinate the evaluation and assessment of designated departmental programs.
Provide assistance and support to the Associate Dean of Students and complete other duties as assigned. Participate and represent the University, division and department on committees and at University functions.
Participate in the rotation for on-call crisis response and adjudicates assigned student and student organization conduct cases, as well as serves as chair for assigned formal conduct committee hearings. Provides support within the Office of the Dean of Students for student issues and concerns.

The ability to work frequent night and weekend hours.
Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field required. Must have degree conferred at time of application.
