The Cataloging and Government Documents Librarian is a member of the Technical Services Department, and contributes to accomplishing departmental responsibilities which include building a library collection that supports the College’s goal of academic excellence. This includes acquiring needed resources in a timely and economical manner, and efficiently organizing and presenting library collections.
The Cataloging and Government Documents Librarian will also perform basic and complex cataloging (both copy and original) for 95% of all books & media purchased or received as gifts for the library collections, as well as several Campus Collections. They will be responsible for all aspects of Carleton’s Government Document Collection, including acquisitions and processing.
This is a full-time, regular, 12-month (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position.

The successful candidate possesses a MLS from an ALA-accredited program with one to three years of experience working in a library or other highly relevant environment. Working knowledge of cataloging standards & tools and cataloging experience in Connexion. Preferred qualities include experience using Ex Libris Alma for cataloging and database maintenance and work working with Government Documents.
