This position is a full-time, tenure track position in the division of STEM and Education. This faculty member will participate in the teaching, effective delivery and the further advancement of public school teacher education programming at the college.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the coordinator of the Elementary Education Transfer program. Duties will include oversight of program review, planning and development of curriculum, assessment of student learning outcomes, and expansion of teacher education programs at the college.
Teach up to four course or twelve credits in the area of elementary teacher education, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Oversee field experience. Act as a liaison between field placement providers and the college.
Provide recruitment and academic advising for student in the programs.
Provide college service such as serving on governance committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $45,000 - $50,000 per year plus fringe benefits. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement.

Masters degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction or Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours in Education or Curriculum and Instruction. Ed. D. or Ph. D. in relevant academic disciplines also desirable.
Current MA teaching licensure required.
Successful teaching experience at the college level required; community college teaching experience preferred.
Successful teaching experience in K-6 public school settings required.
Successful teaching experience with special education, multi-lingual, and culturally diverse students.
Experience in supervision of student 'interns/teachers' preferred.
Experience in developing and accessing student learning outcomes required.
Experience with the integration of technology, OER, student-oriented software, and multimedia formats in the development and delivery of course instruction preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and interpersonal connection with a student population that is highly diverse in academic preparation, cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds as well as physical and learning disabilities.
Commitment to the mission of the community college, to teaching excellence, and to the maintenance and continuous improvement of high standards for student learning.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI background check as a condition of employment.
