GE Healthcare is seeking a talented individual to join its Global Outcomes Research team to support the GE Healthcare Imaging systems product portfolio. The Senior Outcomes Research Leader will work closely with peers within the function and across the GEHC organization to develop evidence generation strategies and to lead the execution of evidence generation projects to demonstrate the value of GE Healthcare’s marketed and in-development products to healthcare providers, governments, and other stakeholders that influence purchasing decisions. This will require a strong understanding of healthcare environments, medical technologies and technical expertise in observational research. You will need strong collaboration and communication skills and an entrepreneurial approach to drive fit-for-purpose studies to generate evidence of value.
As Outcomes Research Leader you will (i) understand the clinical, financial and operational outcomes important to customers and the evidence requirements, (ii) develop the evidence generation plan and drive the execution of opportunities to generate evidence to substantiate the value propositions, and (iii) activate the evidence produced by developing sales tools that effectively communicate the value propositions and evidence to customers, and by supporting sales team training on how to communicate value to customers.
IDENTIFY EVIDENCE NEEDS & DEVELOP EVIDENCE PLANS: drive the development of the evidence generation plans and study protocols to quantify outcomes supporting product value propositions across the product development life cycle. Identify opportunities for outcomes research studies to generate evidence to demonstrate that GEHC’s products improve operational or financial outcomes for our customers.
GENERATE EVIDENCE: Lead the execution of outcomes research studies (such as literature reviews, economic modelling, customer case studies / evaluation sites, lab simulations, database analyses, internal usability studies) including: developing study protocols and endpoints to quantify the outcomes; identifying and managing external contractors or undertaking in-house execution of studies; supporting outcomes research customer studies; collaborating with the clinical research team.
INTERPRET AND COMMUNICATE RESULTS: Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to effectively communicate study results undertaken by GEHC and by other organizations to internal and external audiences: drive the activation of the evidence generated by translating the study results into marketing content and customer-facing tools (white papers, infographics, interactive sales tools) to effectively demonstrate and communicate the value of GEHC’s offerings to customers.
COLLABORATE AND DEVELOP EXPERTISE: Support the continuous development of the Outcomes Research function by sharing best practice, developing methodologies and identifying/developing innovative ways to generate and communicate evidence of value.
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or science discipline e.g. biological science, health economics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related disciplines.
A minimum of 8 years’ industry experience in a health technology company, health consulting firm, etc.
Strong analytical, process and research skills: strong orientation to execution and inquisitive/research mindset.
Project management: Proven record of establishing and managing project plans, adjusting to changing circumstances, with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and effectively manage key milestones.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive timely execution of outcomes research with proven track record of generating evidence. Works proactively and demonstrate flexibility in approach to changing work priorities.
Team player: successful experience working in a team environment and of working with and influencing within diverse, cross-functional teams. Ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed organization including senior executives: includes and motivates others to succeed towards business goals while taking ownership of execution.

Master’s degree or post-graduate qualification in health economics, health services research, economics, Business, Marketing or related field.
External Focus: Deep understanding of healthcare and healthcare markets.
Previous experience in health economics, outcomes research or clinical research.
Experience in applying techniques of health economic evaluation to the area of diagnostic imaging and/or medical devices. Proven ability to design and execute studies to generate evidence of impact of new medical technologies on outcomes.
Experience handling large datasets and use of statistical analysis methods.
