Involves planning, developing, implementing and advising on programs, services, activities and processes for students in their non-academic life at the university, including residential life, public service, student conduct and judicial affairs, identity-based matters, sexual violence, leadership development, student government, student businesses, student organizations, and other student resource center areas.
Under the general supervision of the Director of SOMeCA, the Assistant Director develops, interprets, and administers the Student Media Program of SOMeCA. The Assistant Director oversees broadcast and print media programs, services, classes, and facilities, ensuring the overall health of organization productions, alumni engagement, and strategic planning goals. The incumbent is responsible for administration, supervision, student leadership and development, and adherence to program budget and making budgetary recommendations to senior management.
SOMeCA (SOAR/Student Media/Cultural Arts and Diversity) fosters student success through inclusive and educationally purposeful services and programs, including campus-wide Student Organizations, Student Media, Cultural Arts and Diversity, and Student Union facilities.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Skills and experience in project and program management to achieve desired goals and objectives for area of responsibility.
Advanced knowledge of Student Affairs / Student Life specialization.
Ability to identify problems and apply reasoning to develop and propose original solutions.
Experience supervising professional staff with demonstrated participatory leadership skills.
