Chairperson Associate Professor or Professor - Tenured Department of Communication Studies and Modern Languages College of Humanities and Social Sciences
The chairperson is responsible for curricular leadership in a diverse department that includes Communication Studies, Corporate Communication, Health Communication, French, German, and Spanish with 280+ majors. The chairperson recruits and evaluates faculty and staff; oversees budget, facilities, and equipment; supervises student recruitment and retention; coordinates course scheduling; advocates for and helps administer study-abroad programs; and assists with the professional development of faculty and staff.
Doctorate in a discipline represented in the department (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
Evidence of collegial and successful administrative and leadership experience
Evidence of sustained excellence in scholarship, service, and teaching
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
