At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Manager will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
Preparing or reviewing pre-planning acquisition packages; actively participating in integrated solutions teams; developing and managing acquisition planning; preparing/researching support documentation; making quality recommendations to the Contracting Officer; handling complex problems through resolution; validating data; and otherwise completing actions needed to successfully advertise, solicit, construct, award, administer and/or closeout Government contracts.
Additionally, administer government contracts for information technology supplies and/or services, including drafting, negotiation and/or issuance of complex and/or non-complex modifications, competitive task or delivery orders, and other contract notifications; analyze financial and contractual issues; perform cost and price analysis with the capability of using advance analysis techniques; document findings; provide input to reports; perform contract administration including deobligation actions; and perform quality control checks on acquisition file documentation and documents.
Each individual in this category must have a wide range of acquisition expertise, knowledge of appropriate regulations, and ability to assist Contract Specialists at any grade level.
Must have knowledge of the FAR, government and regulations, policies and practices with the ability to work independently.
Must have at least 24 semester hours within the following fields: accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management, and Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in conducting comprehensive acquisition support activities and at least five (5) of the eight (8) years of experience shall have been in an equivalent role in acquisition support efforts in excess of $50 Million.
Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities.
Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.
Acquisition experience, knowledge of the FAR, organized, and well-spoken
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required.
Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Coach and mentor junior staff members.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
