We are seeking a curious and eager software engineer to join our team in transforming the business of government through big-data analysis and visualization technology. You'll be a core member of our product team in helping our clients displace time-consuming, manual processes to reach informed real-time decisions about government markets, competitors, and agency relationships.

You must also understand data and know how to bring it to life.
This is a team member position, working onsite in our Pittsburgh, PA office.
Scope of Responsibilities
Actively participate and support the development of client-facing applications; including debugging current systems and programming enhancements
Take ownership of tasks as assigned to ensure successful implementation; getting support from experienced Software Engineers as needed
Design, create, test and maintain code
Work collaboratively with team members to troubleshoot, resolve and implement required changes in the development, test, staging, and production environments
Monitor the implementation of system improvements and tests to continually improve products, services and processes
Develop a clear understanding of the business needs and incorporate these needs into technical solutions

Candidate must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
2+ years of progressively difficult experience in software development
Advanced SQL development
Experience in Linux environments, with working knowledge of shell scripting
Proficiency with PostgreSQL administration
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
A burning desire to be challenged and learn
Interest or experience in NoSQL or Non-Relational databases
Experience working with search-based applications using Elasticsearch
Familiarity with Git source control management
Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
