About this position:
This Extension Educator will bring in-depth expertise to address complex water management and water quality issues, specifically in geographic areas with a significant agricultural land use. The educator will collaborate with diverse organizations to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that will have a measurable impact on water resources issues by engaging with water professionals, policy-makers, farmers, land managers, and others across the state. The position will require working with a range of public, private, and non-profit stakeholders including:
Individual landowners and farmers;
Soil and water conservation districts;
Agriculture and natural resource organizations; and
State agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Board of Water and Soil Resources, Pollution Control Agency, and Department of Health.

Opportunities for growth and promotion
Reimbursement for travel and subsistence is available in accordance with University policy (must provide own means for traveling throughout the state and vehicle insurance).
A master's degree in engineering, hydrology, soil science, natural resources sciences, agricultural education, or related discipline.
Experience and education in watershed management, rural water systems, hydrology, soil science, soil drainage, natural resources sciences, or related disciplines.
A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and collaborations with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, including those that may have diverse missions, goals, and backgrounds (e.g., regional water managers, rural community officials, legislators, program participants, and industry groups).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
