USC-MannKind Corporation Medical and Clinical Affairs Fellowship
In collaboration with The University of Southern California, MannKind Corporation is proud to offer a 12 month Medical and Clinical Affairs Fellowship program (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020). This unique program will allow a recent Doctor of Pharmacy graduate the opportunity to rotate within the Medical Affairs department with options to rotate within Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Clinical Development and an elective of the fellow’s choice. As an integral member of the medical and clinical teams, the fellow will be provided opportunities to develop skills for multiple functions within the biopharmaceutical industry based at MannKind Corporation’s headquarters in Westlake Village, California.
Objectives of the fellowship will incorporate training from the following departments:
Participate in publication planning and external data disclosure with the medical and clinical teams
Work closely with cross-functional staff to develop scientific communication materials for internal and external communications
Attend and participate in review committee meetings for promotional materials
Partner with the Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) to engage in field based activities
Attend appropriate regional and national scientific congresses to support scientific activities and increase disease state knowledge
Create and deliver unbiased fair/scientifically balanced medical information to health care professionals
Work with the regulatory team to understand regulations that govern advertising, labeling and promotion and learn how to effectively apply regulations and provide guidance
Utilize the procedures, systems and databases to comply with all regulatory requirements
Learn about regulatory rules and compliance in countries outside of the US
Work closely with the external surveillance team to capture safety insights to present to the broader medical and clinical affairs organization
Support the regulatory affairs team in tracking and evaluating potential safety issues
Provide training and experience to conduct clinical trials and participate clinical research projects (if applicable during rotation)
Develop relevant study documentation such as clinical protocols and informed consent forms
Gain experience with analytical methodologies and PK/PD
Participate in study planning meetings with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners
Fellows in our program further their experience through the academic component at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, one of the nation's leading schools of pharmacy. Fellows have the opportunity to take graduate courses in the Regulatory Sciences program, lecture in the School of Pharmacy, and have access to the strong network of USC alumni.

Applicants must have obtained a PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy within 5 years of initial appointment, and a minimum doctoral program GPA of 3.0. Selected candidates will be invited to schedule an interview at the 2018 ASHP Midyear PPS by email prior to TBD
