Reporting to the Associate Provost for International Initiatives, the Associate Director of Study Abroad manages the essential study abroad functions at Barnard College. The Associate Director supports Barnard students through the entire arc of study abroad: from advising, application support, and pre-departure orientation, to communication and emergency support while abroad, to re-entry support and advising. The Associate Director works to support faculty-led programs, collaborating closely with faculty directors to prepare them to lead student groups abroad. The Associate Director, in close collaboration with the Associate Provost for International Initiatives, works across the College with academic departments and administrative offices, represents the College in meetings and site visits with study abroad providers and partner universities, and attends conferences and professional events.

Required Qualification Summary:
Advanced degree in academic field, international education, or student personnel administration
Minimum of 5 years experience in college or university administration
Proficiency in at least one foreign language
