ASSISTANT MANAGER OF GIFT OPERATIONS , Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Office of the Recording Secretary-Gift Operations Team , to oversee daily gift processing operations, including managing gift and pledge recording and receipting for the Institute's significant gifts, representing approximately $500M of new gifts/pledges annually. Will manage data workflow and recording; work closely with colleagues from Resource Development, the Alumni Association, and VPF; skillfully and tactfully speak with donors and their representatives regarding issues of receipting, recording, and gift crediting; and be responsible for the hiring, performance management, and daily workflow of the team, including establishing standards for quality and processing efficiency.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; at least five years of increasingly nuanced finance experience in a complex nonprofit setting, preferably in gift operations or gift administration; demonstrated success directing teams and/or individuals to perform meet mutually agreed upon performance objectives; demonstrated experience working with IRS, FASB and CASE guidelines that govern the recording, receipting, and reporting of contributions; direct knowledge of and experience with relational databases, e.g., SAP and/or Advance; ability to think strategically about complex issues and work with multiple resources to find solutions; thorough understanding (or ability to quickly develop) of IRS gift regulations, accepted peer and CASE standards and procedures, and fund-raising database processes and procedures; meticulous attention to detail; ability to track multiple deadlines at once; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and ability to establish priorities, organize tasks, follow up, and direct effective implementation of tasks in a high-pressure environment.
