The Part-time Prospect Research Analyst works under the direction of the Director of Prospect Development to identify potential major gift prospects, verify wealth screening results, and perform moves management tasks to support fundraising strategies for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, as well as help to maintain accurate records in the donor database. The Part-time Prospect Research Analyst will analyze online and internal sources to gauge philanthropic capacity and propensity of prospects in support of major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
This is a part-time position located at the 4401 Connecticut Avenue location (one block from the Van Ness metro)
No option for off-site work

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
1 to 2 years of experience in prospect research or similar roles involving development (preferably in a higher education setting), Internet-based research, financial analysis, or data management
Experience with research techniques and proficiency in interpreting and verifying online, library and government sources
Excellent written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to synthesize data found through research into clear, concise documents adhering to the AU style guide
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated experience successfully working with persons from diverse backgrounds
Ability to manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail in a deadline-oriented environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word (merges, advanced formatting), MS Excel (including filtering, equations), and MS Access (queries, mail merges, forms)
Familiarity with relational databases such as Ellucian CRM Advance and/or online databases such as LexisNexis, WealthEngine, Foundation Search, and iWave is a plus
