Department Profile Capital Markets & Core Processing Operations (CMCP) aligns to the Capital Markets desk. This group supports the movement of client assets in and out of the firm, provides asset servicing for our clients as well as front to back trade support all the way through to clearance & settlement. Each group's primary focus is to provide quality service to their business partners and Financial Advisors while mitigating the Firm's risk and exposure. The areas that make up this group are: Trade Support (Equity, Fixed Income, Listed Derivatives, Foreign Exchange & Precious Metals), Settlements, Asset Servicing, and Account Transfers. In addition the teams support Consulting Group, Middle Markets and Choice Select.
The Balance & Control team of Wealth Management Operations is a responsible for the integrity of the Firm's books and records through the reconciliation of the security ledger (Stock Record) and the cash sub-ledgers that roll into the General Ledger. Daily the team oversees and interacts with all of the various Operations Core processing teams through the balancing of assigned accounts, overseeing exception reporting, monitoring and tracking root cause of exceptions, recommending resolutions and ensuring risk controls are being properly applied.
Key drivers for the team include:
Balancing cash, currency and security activity at domestic and international clearing utilities and agent banks
Balancing Trade blotter activity
Preparing reconciliations and explanations of month end Operations FOCUS reportable balances for capital charges.
Detecting, aging and resolving stock ledger exceptions related to physical security transfer activity
Independently monitoring and reviewing open obligations with counterparties for unsettled trades, account transfers, securities borrowed and repurchase agreements.
Balancing cash and positions for Global Stock Plan Service participants and corporate clients
