SENIOR RESEARCH AND TRAINING ASSOCIATE , Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Global-Research, Education, and Training Team , to join a diverse and integrated team that works together in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Will collaborate with other team members to build out research resources for staff, develop data analysis tools, review reference and teaching materials, and help organize trainings for research staff and policymakers; interact with high-level policy makers from governments, foundations, and NGOs; and work closely with staff from regional offices in Chile, France, India, Indonesia, and South Africa as well as staff from J-PAL's partner organizations (e.g., Innovations for Poverty Action and the Center for Effective Global Action).
The position offers an opportunity to work with some of the top researchers at MIT and around the world.
REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in economics, political science, computer science, public policy, international development, or related field and which includes significant training in and a strong technical understanding of randomized impact evaluations; four years of overall experience, preferably including at least two years' relevant economic experience; experience with quantitative data analysis; strong interest in poverty alleviation policy and research as demonstrated by coursework and/or study or work abroad; knowledge of data management, data analysis, and econometrics; PowerPoint and Excel experience; good command of (or willingness to quickly learn) Stata; and knowledge of R, Python, or other analytics programs.
