Engages business, government, and non-profit entities in providing university support services which benefit both the partnership and the community. Supports the development and implementation of strategies designed to build business and governmental partnerships which stimulate economic growth, foster innovation, and increase capacity. Assists federal, state and local government entities, as well as business and community organizations in developing effective working relationships with YSU. Collaborates with the City of Youngstown Community Planning & Economic Development Department to implement an economic development strategy for downtown Youngstown. Provides planning and economic development support for communities within the Mahoning Valley. Develops and implements a YSU Center for Leadership as a component of the Mahoning Valley Innovation and Commercialization Center (MVICC).
Bachelor degree in appropriate academic disciplines; demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining business, non-profit, and government relationships, and in supporting regional economic development within an academic institution; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Master degree in appropriate academic disciplines; track record of success in community leadership in economic development, strategic planning, or service learning; history of building community partnerships and coalitions; previous supervisory experience; experience in grant proposal writing and grant management; understanding of state and federal funding mechanisms.
