We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr Grants Specialist.
Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing grant applications and process post-award grant activities. The candidate will work closely with investigators who conduct basic and clinical research. The candidate will work with the divisions administrative management teams (Program Director, Research; FA & DA) and assist with the financial and administrative management related to the grants. (S)He will review and maintain budgets, records, and processes to be compliant with regulations.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains accounts of grant funds and performs grant accounting functions including preparation of journal entries for revenue and expenditure transactions, and preparation of grantee performance reports. Works closely with financial analyst to ensure proper execution of grant accounting.
Audits, monitors and schedules reports of grant activities. Processes transaction corrections, reallocations and other related activities.
Responsible for pre and post-award general support; troubleshoots internal and external grant/contract system implementation.
Assist with establishing accounts; allocates award budgets; maintains budgets for programs, including reconciliation and transfers; maintains all official award records.
Assists in proposal development; organizes, writes, and coordinates written application in response to requests for proposal, and grant opportunities.
Reviews external proposal budgets and certifications; ensures compliance with NYU School of Medicine and federal policies and procedures.
Coordinates and assist others in the preparation of proposals and contracts relative to grants, in compliance with regulations and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Identifies, seek out, applies for, administers, and coordinate the administration of federal, state and local grant awards in accordance to applicable standards, regulations and guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or equivalent.
Three years experience in pre- and post-award grants processes, preferably within an academic Institution.
General understanding of accounting principles and moderate Excel skills.
The candidate must have excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
Masters degree and pre and post award management .
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
