Provide direction, leadership and program coordination for the campus Veterans Resource Center (VRC).
Develop programs and activities for the veteran and military student population in order to provide support to and engage students.
Provide general advising and referral services to prospective, current, and returning veteran and military students (i.e. academic financial aid, career, etc.).
Coordinate with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs staff to communicate and disseminate timely and accurate information regarding financial regulations, which affect military-affiliated students at the university.
Serve as the ex officio co-advisor to the Veterans Club.
Provide daily direction to student workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate Degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of applicaton)
Two (2) years experience working with veteran/military service members. Experience, including in the military, working with or providing support to military veterans, or their dependents.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
One (1) year of experience advising/assisting veteran and military students with admissions, financial aid, and/or providing similar support in an educational setting.
One (1) year of experience working with underrepresented populations.
One (1) year of experience establishing operating procedures, policies, guidelines and/or work plans.
Two (2) years of program management/development experience.
One (1) year of experience coordinating and managing students in education programs.
Knowledge of Minnesota State University, Mankato and Minnesota State's policies and procedures.
Previous Military experience (honorable discharge).
