The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the delivery of agreed project outputs to the agreed time, cost and quality parameters within the agreed scope. The Project Manager will manage and co-ordinate the activity of Technical specialists and analysts to ensure that tasks are performed in accordance with the Project plans to aid in successful delivery. This role will include managing multiple work-streams including Regulatory stream to cover MAS/HKMA compliance among others.
The ideal candidate will be a pro-active self-starter with a can-do attitude who is well versed in Project Governance and has excellent communication skills (both written and oral). A confident communicator with excellent problem solving skills, he/she will have around 10 years of experience leading large teams, preferably in the areas of Core Banking and/or Wealth Management.
Role and Responsibilities:
Possess a significant experience in managing complex projects in the Banking & Financial Industry handling multi-disciplinary teams and vendors.
Able to lead & govern Technology releases to the Core Banking platform / large transition projects with changes to the data centre / Regular functional & technical releases
Possess a thorough understanding of the Project Management methodology and able to apply it and guide the Project to successful delivery
Manage the multiple work streams of the Projects across Internal stakeholders and vendors.
Identify & recognise issues, risks and dependencies at the Project level and across the work streams and able to evaluate alternatives and find solutions using a systematic approach.
Able to multi-task at different levels & work to tight deadlines for ensuring committed dates.
Able to identify problems at an early stage and develop solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist in the Project or at the Organisation level.
Proactively engage & build coalition among various stakeholders at the Organisation and or Vendor side and able to negotiate the way forward in an assertive & authoritative manner.
Should be able to facilitate discussion & resolve conflict at various levels by establishing trust and building cross-functional relationships and use them to accomplish Project objectives
Manage the Project on a daily basis at all levels from planning to delivery, be the face of the Project to all related stakeholders and manage their expectations accordingly.
Track all the vendor deliverables for on-time delivery with the right quality and escalate deviations to the appropriate stakeholders and forums for resolution.
Create and maintain the Project plan with all the deliverables and tasks of the Project team and manage deviations to schedule so that the delivery date of the Project is not at risk.
Steer the Project activities and manage the various Governance Forums of Project Management to ensure tracking of work deliverables.
Able to articulate both in oral and written communication the appropriate and precise message intended for the stakeholders in discussions and forums.
Excellent stakeholder management skills to support both internal (Technology) and external stakeholders (Business users)
Wealth Management / Core-banking experience
Experience in managing multiple work streams for Technical / Infrastructure related / Data centre transition projects.
Awareness of data transfer and data security requirements from regulatory perspective
Knowledge of vendor risk assessment processes
Experience in handling Regulatory compliance to MAS/HKMA & others for Data Centre related projects.
Very strong focus around the governance process across all phases of the SDLC
Experience in working with business and vendor resources across locations
Experience in the usage of Project Management tools like MS Project and well versed in Microsoft suite – MS Word, Excel etc
Experience on the Avaloq Banking System for Wealth Management will be an advantage.
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent diploma / work experience).
Professional qualification in Prince2 and/or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
