The Programme Manager is responsible and accountable for delivering multiple projects under the Core banking portfolio. This requires the Programme Manager to design suitable projects to deliver the required outputs whilst managing the costs to budget, delivering the business benefits according to plan, identifying project delivery risks and proposing mitigations as required. The Programme Manager does this by managing Project Managers and utilising Steering Committees for making decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a pro-active self-starter with a can-do attitude who is well versed in Project Governance and has excellent communication skills (both written and oral). A confident communicator with excellent problem solving skills, he/she will have around 15 years of experience leading large teams, preferably in the areas of Core Banking and/or Wealth Management.
Role and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects under the portfolio (Core banking systems & Satellites) and deliver on time within budget and with good quality.
Represent Technology team in liaising with Business/Transformation team for managing the requirement pipeline and in UAT
Manage escalations as the SPOC for Technology team to Business, Internal teams & Vendors. Resolve the prioritization conflicts across multiple projects
Challenge Time & Cost estimations to ensure the Programme is on track (Value addition)
Manage multiple projects that are under different stages of SDLC
Work with environment support team in effectively utilizing the existing test environments for the various on-going projects
Track Programme relevant risks, issues, actions and ensure that related artefacts are documented.
Possess a significant experience in managing complex projects in the Banking & Financial Industry handling multi-disciplinary teams and vendors.
Able to lead & govern Technology releases to the Core Banking platform / Satellite Application changes / Regular functional & technical releases
Possess a thorough understanding of the Project Management methodology and able to apply it and guide the Project to successful delivery
Manage the multiple work streams of the Projects across Internal stakeholders and vendors.
Identify & recognise issues, risks and dependencies at the Project level and across the work streams and able to evaluate alternatives and find solutions using a systematic approach.
Proactively engage & build coalition among various stakeholders at the Organisation and or Vendor side and able to negotiate the way forward in an assertive & authoritative manner.
Should be able to facilitate discussion & resolve conflict at various levels by establishing trust and building cross-functional relationships and use them to accomplish Project objectives
Manage the Project on a daily basis at all levels from planning to delivery, be the face of the Project to all related stakeholders and manage their expectations accordingly.
Track all the vendor deliverables for on-time delivery with the right quality and escalate deviations to the appropriate stakeholders and forums for resolution.
Steer the Project activities and manage the various Governance Forums of Project Management to ensure tracking of work deliverables.
Plan the Technology Roadmap activities for the division.
Able to articulate both in oral and written communication the appropriate and precise message intended for the stakeholders in discussions and forums.
Demonstrable experience in leading complex transformation programmes successfully
Experience in a leadership/management role with material P&L accountability. Experience in negotiating commercially valuable outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management skills to support both internal (Technology) and external stakeholders (Business users) across locations.
Wealth Management / Core-banking experience (Must have). Experience on the Avaloq Banking System for Wealth Management will be an advantage
Experience in managing multiple work streams for Technical / Infrastructure related / Data centre transition projects.
Very strong focus around the governance process across all phases of the SDLC
Experience in the usage of Project Management tools like MS Project and well versed in Microsoft suite – MS Word, Excel etc
Experienced in effectively communicating with and positively influencing diverse stakeholders and team members.
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent diploma/work experience).
Professional qualification in Prince2 and/or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
