Civilian opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide full-time, early intervention care under the U.S. Navy's EDIS Program at the U.S. military treatment facility located at a U.S. naval base in Naples, Italy.

Possesses a minimum of a Master’s degree in the field of Speech-Lanaguage Pathology with relevant concentration in pediatric services, and two years experience working with infants and toddlers using family-centered techniques and delivered in the child’s natural setting.
Licensed in at least one state or territory and qualifies for and receives any certification of competence in practices as appropriate under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, issued by the applicable military department.
Possesses certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) as awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Performs screenings and evaluation of child’s level of development of all forms of communication, including expressive and receptive language, communicative intent, and gesturing.
Determines diagnosis related to speech-language communication skills in accordance with accepted professional standards of speech pathology.
Determines presence or absence of delay in communication and diagnoses likely causes of delay. Determines need for speech-language or other intervention to improve communication.
Provides competent face-to-face contact with infants/toddlers with disabilities, their families and members of the EDIS team, child-care providers, preschool teachers, and physicians.
Consults with families caregivers, and other professionals and participates in team/group interactions, work groups and decision making.
Assists the family in determining priorities, concerns, and goals for the child relating to speech and language. Participates with the EDIS team and family to develop an appropriate IFSP. Ensures that the goals reflect the concerns and priorities of the family.
Conducts child-find activities in collaboration with other medical departments and community agencies.
