Dwight School is seeking a Head of Physical Education, beginning September 2019, to be responsible for ensuring successful development and delivery of PE and Health curricula to students from preschool through twelfth grade. The goal of this department is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to live healthy, active lives. The Head of Physical Education will oversee all physical education, and health education, with particular attention to:
Leading a team of dedicated physical educators
Delivering thoughtful, engaging P.E. and health courses to a diverse group of learners
Fostering excellence in learning, curriculum, and pedagogy throughout the department
Encouraging physically healthy and active lifestyle choices and habits
Developing novel programs to advance the health, fitness, and wellness of the entire Dwight community
Designing and implementing schedules that best utilize the School’s resources, faculty, and physical space for student learning
Experienced physical educator and administrator with knowledge and practice in effective pedagogy and curriculum design
Experience leading a team
Understands the IB program
Desire to become an engaged member of a school community with a commitment to serving a diverse student body
