The Innovation Campus at Burlington MA (ICBM) is seeking a Finance & Contracts Administrator whose overall responsibility is to provide research and campus administrative services to the leadership team and research staff affiliated with ICBM, including the Kostas Research Institute and other facilities located at the Burlington campus.
The Finance & Contracts Administrator, reporting to the Director of Finance & Contracts, will provide research and operating administrative services to faculty and lead technical research staff, both at the Burlington and Boston campuses, as well as with external collaborators. With a heavy focus on federal defense contracts and awards, candidate will provide analysis of accounts, prepare projections, resolve account issues, submit payroll change requests, set-up and oversee often large and complex purchase orders, prepare and submit various amendment and no cost extension requests, facilitate and monitor various types of agreement processing, and process and prepare transactions for timely and accurate award closeout. The administrator will also provide services to faculty and research staff engaged with philanthropic and corporate funded research including the collaborative agreements with our strategic campus partners. Operational administrative responsibilities will also include preparation and processing of rental/lease invoices and payments, revenue tracking, and acting as the liaison with partners and early-stage companies housed at ICBM.
Candidate will work closely with ICBM leadership team and with staff in many of the University central offices including Provost's office, NU RES, finance/budget offices, procurement, accounts payable, and office of the general counsel. Special projects may be assigned from time to time.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or business administration required Three to five years' finance/operations experience, with two years' experience in an academic environment with grant and office management experience a plus Ability to work with many constituencies; timely processing from start to completion of activities and transactions Strong understanding of federal/University grant operations, rates and regulations along with knowledge of relevant government regulations and university accounting procedures preferred Computer literacy required, particularly spreadsheet software Analytical skills, strong attention to detail, ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects Strong interpersonal communication skills
