The Business Continuity Risk and Control Manager provides leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary for Business Continuity Management and crisis response within Commercial and Government Markets (CGM). This Manager ccoordinates efforts to reduce/manage business continuity risks across the CGM businesses and ensures all CGM business areas are in compliance with Guardian standards, including properly designed and tested business continuity plans, identified key business continuity risks.
This position reports to the VP, Commercial and Government Markets Operational Risk and Control who in turn reports to the SVP and CFO, Commercial and Government Markets.
Develop/Update BCP Plans
Ensure BCP plans are properly created and updated for all CGM locations
Assess existing business continuity plans against external risks and advise on the adequacy of planned solutions to address these business continuity risks
Review BCP plans of key/critical third-party service providers
Test BCP Plans
Define a BCP testing plan based on each major location needs, in accordance with Guardian Standards and in coordination with Corporate Risk Office
Support and coordinate the CGM BCP testing plan
Ensure gaps and remediation actions are duly tracked within the CGM risk register
Support DR Testing and Crisis Event Support
Support IT-led Disaster Recovery testing of systems for CGM
Support Corporate-led efforts to coordinate crisis responses to external events and regional/local disasters
Reporting, New Initiatives and Ad-Hoc Efforts
Conduct analyses related to business continuity to ensure resiliency readiness of plans and organization
Support the development of materials for Corporate Committees and the Board and periodic management updates, as needed Create awareness materials and perform training to staff and executives, as needed
Analyse risk exposure against other related areas of risk, such as information security risk, technology risk or third-party risk
Four-year college degree required
CBCP / CBCM or other business continuity industry designation required
CPA/ CFA / or other industry designation and MBA a plus
10 plus years of experience within advanced business continuity and risk management programs with financial institutions or the professional services industry. A background in insurance industry a strong plus.
Driving Proximity to Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, PA with some remote work from home opportunity.
