We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, UW Medicine Finance. This individual has the primary accountability for Oncology and other strategic service line analysis, including support for the AISA (Adult Inpatient Services Agreement) between the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and UWMC, which governs all inpatient services provided to SCCA patients cared for at UWMC. In addition, at the direction of the Associate VP, UWM Health System Finance, this individual will develop and prepare exceptionally high quality, system-level reporting and presentation materials for various UWM and University governing boards and executives. This individual is a key member of the Finance Team, working very closely with the UWM Finance Performance Analytics Team to provide relevant, timely, reliable analytical support to UWM in support of strategic and financial goals. Particular complexity arises from the continued work across UWM to integrate and consolidate clinical and administrative systems, processes and resources. This position will serve in a unique position of providing strategic and tactical support for the operational and financial integration within UWM.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Oncology and Other Service Line AnalysisServes as point-of-contact and primary analyst for Oncology and other various services lines.Develops periodic dashboard reporting for assigned service lines.Supports performance improvement analysis and reporting.Provides reports and interpretations of analytical results to system finance management and administration.Provides analysis using Encounter reporting tools.AISA SupportServes as UWM subject matter expert for the Adult Inpatient Services Agreement (AISA) partnership.Supports the annual AISA budget preparation.Visualization and Presentation Development.Under the direction of the Associate VP of Finance, develops, prepares and maintains high quality reports and presentations for UWM and University governing boards and executive leadership.Performs professional financial analysis to support optimal decision-making and cost management for the enterprise.Other Duties As AssignedActively participates in committees or other initiatives in support of performance improvement as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial analysis with progressively greater responsibility for preparing complex financial analysis and presentation material Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.In-depth knowledge of healthcare accounting; current in new regulations and trends is required.Exceptional skill level in using presentation and visualization applications such as PowerPoint, Spotfire or Tableau is required.Strong skills in: Costing, Budgeting and General Ledger applications as well as supporting software programs, including Excel, Word and Access is required.An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.DESIRED:Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.Experience with UW Medicine data and systems is strongly preferred.Ability to prepare complex financial analysis and interpretations with high degree of accuracy.Effective analytical, verbal and written communications skills.Ability to summarize complex financial data into graphical and presentation-quality formats.Ability to extract and reconcile data from multiple systems and ensure data integrity.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.Ability to formulate recommendations and interpret financial information.Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
