Fitch's Operations, Data and Technology (ODT) team maintains and improves surveillance and organisational risk data for Structured Finance globally.
Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across five main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), Structured Credit and Covered Bonds.
Fitch Ratings maintains periodic surveillance on over 1,500 European structured finance transactions.
The primary role of Operations Associate - Servicer Data is to provide data support for Fitch's Structured Finance RMBS department as a member of the London-based Data Group. This role is offered on a 3 month fixed-term contract.
Key Performance Objectives:
Review current operational risk scorecards and documentation.
Interpret and transpose those responses to fit a new scorecard.
Complete a set number of scorecards in a fixed three month period.
Core responsibilities will include:
Carefully review existing organisational risk data in scorecards.
Where data is unclear or incomplete, communicate with Servicers to collect missing data.
Rigorous data validation of own work.
Where needed, writing and updating process documentation.
Testing of new internal system for the collection and collation of scorecard data.
Qualifications and experience:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and keen to learn. The candidate must be able to pick up new concepts quickly, deliver to tight timelines and have good computer literacy. The role involves interaction with Fitch analytical colleagues and external Servicers; so excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude are essential.
Diligence, attention to detail and logical thinking will be key skills of the successful candidate.
Whilst not essential, an understanding of the workings and development of the securitisation markets and the role of Servicers would be beneficial; an interest in finance is expected.
Candidates may have recently completed full-time education as a graduate or may have some years' relevant experience.
