Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Services Associate.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for claim submission with timely follow up. The position requires proficiency in ePremis, OmiPro, and EPIC. Candidates must be able to communicate with other teams in timely and compliant manner, provide correct information as needed or requested. This position reports to Billing Team Supervisor.
Account Review - Reviews assigned accounts in Epic and third party remittances to determine accounts requiring action; Verifies accurate charge posting and claims submission; Analyzes any open balances and/or insures accurate payment posting; Completes appropriate follow-up action as necessary; Document all actions taken on accounts in the billing system.
Billing Services - Submits clear and accurate claims to third party carriers on a timely basis; Utilizes electronic follow-up system to perform billing activities; Confirms receipt of third party claims and re-bills claims as necessary; Is cognizant of time limits currently in effect for all billing activities and monitors for compliance.
Manage internal/external correspondence - Respond to communications in a timely and compliant manner; provide appropriate documents requested by payers or other parties; Provides information people need to know to do their jobs and make accurate decisions; Writes clearly and succinctly and ensures messages across with the desired effect.
Customer Service - Demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service in responding to the needs of internal and external parties or departments; Provides and solicits correct information as needed or requested.
Compliance - Adhere to compliance and departmental policies and procedures including compliance with 100% of HIPAA requirements, required trainings, and other Hospital mandated activities; On a quarterly basis track assigned goals in e-Performance.
Specialized Functions - Proficient in ePremis; Proficient in utilizing OmniPro; Submit voids and adjustments; Submit rebills if needed/as assigned; Management of assigned Epic Workqueues; Ability to address billing edits.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree preferred but not required plus 2-3 years experience in patient accounts or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of third party operations and familiarity with automated patient accounting systems required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business administration or healthcare administration or related field. Supervisory experience preferred. Over three years of demonstrated responsible experience in the managerial role of a Revenue Cycle Operations department
