In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children's University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance a partnership among UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children'sOur Patient Financial Services department has an exciting opportunity for a for PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE 1Post adjustments to patient accounts according to departmental procedures;Post and balance daily remittances to patient accounts; post allowances and adjustments accompanying cash remittances;Screen, scan and process incoming correspondence to ensure routing to appropriate work queues/units;Print, distribute and mail claims; process returned mail;Print medical records and itemizations as required for claims submission;Produce and print account summaries, itemizations, and other documents as required, in response to requests from attorneys and others;Perform data entry; document activities accurately in all applicable systems, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures;Maintain confidentiality of information, including protected health information (PHI);Participate in and attend meetings and training as required;May assist in orienting and training new staff;May occasionally speak to patients, clinical staff, or third-party payers; andPerform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENT:High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environmentOREquivalent education/experienceDESIRED:Knowledge of UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other utilized billing forms and payer requirements. Knowledge of Epic Hospital Billing and/or Professional Billing, and registration systems.
