JOB SUMMARY: This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance and is responsible for directing all aspects of Harris Health System's net revenue accounting, government reporting and reimbursement functions. Directs annual Medicare, Medicaid and Tri-Care Cost Report preparation, timely filing and resulting audits. Actively supports the efforts for securing funding through special programs such as 340B (includes advocacy, analysis and annual recertification of enrolled entities), Medicaid Supplemental Programs under 1115 Waiver/DSH/UC (includes advocacy, DSH/UC Tool preparation and audit), Trauma and Tobacco Funds. Provides monthly analysis of net patient revenue, including calculating and recording of accounts receivable allowances. Participates in the annual external audit, and preparation of annual financial statements for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Responsible for maintaining the hospital and other entity licensure and revalidations, and all hospital and professional provider enrollment requirements. The Administrative Director is regarded as a content expert on all reimbursement issues. Support the advocacy efforts of the CEO, CFO and Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations by providing technical expertise and strong analytical ability regarding proposed and enacted regulatory changes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business or related required. Masters in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business preferred. Certified Public Accountant FHFMA preferred. 2. Work experience: 10 plus years specifically in the area of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, accounting and cost reporting 3. Management Experience: 5 plus years in hospital setting, including experience with fiscal intermediary or consulting.
