Serve as the Chief Academic Officer to provide leadership and direction to all academic disciplines and programs of college in support of the college mission, visions and goals to maintain a level of quality that is consistent with expectations of the students, regional and program accreditors and the various constituencies of the college.
Accountable for all instructional programs and teaching/learning activities of the college credit, non-credit and K-12 partnerships and programs and baccalaureate transfer institutions.
Works in concert with the Vice President of Student Affairs, Student Deans, and other campus and system leaders to support student academic success and meet the diverse educational needs of students and the college community.
Exercises significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of College policy.
Member of the Executive Cabinet and reports to the College President.
This position requires the ability to:

Positively represent the college to external partners and stakeholders.
Six (6) years of higher education administration experience at a dean level or higher.
Teaching experience at the college or university level.
Demonstrated experience in both liberal arts and career and technical education.
Demonstrated experience in fostering and supporting diversity throughout the college.
Demonstrated competence to conduct long and short-range strategic planning and program reviews.
Well-developed skill set and experience in a collective bargaining/contract administration setting.
Make sound decisions and experience in a shared governance environment and includes participatory and collaborative decision-making.
Data-informed decision-making culture and continuous quality improvement.
Proficiency in written and oral communications, including public speaking.
Demonstrated ability to work with students and employees in a diverse cultural setting.
