The County of Riverside is recruiting nationally for a highly experienced, innovative, progressive and collaborative Director of Public Social Services. The position will be responsible for approximately 4,200 staff and will oversee a budget of over $1.8 billion and 4,200 staff. The Director is supported by five Assistant Directors who oversee each of the following: Children Services Division; Adult Services Division; Self-Sufficiency Division; First 5; and Administrative Services Division. The Director of Public Social Services has the overall responsibility for policy development, program planning, fiscal management, administration, and coordination of programs and services, implementing, operational and organizational change; and developing social services policy recommendations at the local, State, and Federal levels.
A Master's degree is required; two years of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the graduate level education. This position requires four years of experience in private or public agency social service programs in management, administrative, executive, or consulting capacity or four years of high-level executive or administrative experience evaluating, administering, and controlling varied types of large social service programs. California experience preferred although all highly qualified candidates on a national level will be given full consideration.
The salary range for the Director of Public Social Services is from $159,377 to $286,464 annually.
