Credit Risk Management (CRM) works closely with the CRO / senior management to manage Goldman Sachs' credit risk. Credit professionals protect the firm's capital by using in-depth knowledge of our clients, markets, and trading products to make decisions on acceptable level of firm's risk appetite. Staffed with more than 400 professionals, CRM operates through 11 different offices around the world. How you will fulfil your potential
As an Analyst in CRM - Regulatory & Analytics (R&A) based in Warsaw, you will play a key role in the credit risk management function and overall capital management process at Goldman Sachs. The R&A team is responsible for the firm's credit risk-related reporting to senior management as well as to external stakeholders such as regulators and investors. The team aggregates and analyses current and potential credit exposures to identify and highlight notable trends and concentrations. The team also executes and analyses the results of stress tests designed to quantify exposures that might arise under unlikely but plausible market conditions or in response to potential geopolitical events for both risk management and regulatory purposes. Finally, the team is responsible for aspects of the firm's credit risk-related regulatory requirements including risk based capital requirements (Basel III), supervisory stress-testing and capital adequacy analysis, and various elements of regulatory reform. Primary responsibilities include:
Development and generation of credit exposure reports in the Warsaw R&A team, using a combination of proprietary systems and off-the-shelf software:
Understanding fundamental risk metrics and drivers of credit risk
Monitoring, analysing and explaining changes in the firm's credit risk exposures and capital requirements across products, sectors and regions
Defining data requirements and sourcing necessary data
Implementing controls and conducting reviews to ensure data quality
Presenting analysis and narrative to senior management
Engaging in dialogue with subject matter experts to explain trends
Responding to requests for ad-hoc analysis based on market events or credit concerns
Conducting stress tests and scenario analyses to understand credit risk implications
Projects and processes related to regulatory deliverables:
CRM's contributions to Basel III, stress testing and internal risk-based capital assessments
Interacting with Regulatory Controllers & Policy as well as other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of credit risk capital calculations and input risk parameters
Assessing capital and regulatory implications of prospective transactions
Technology initiatives related to exposure measurement, analytics, stress testing, and capital adequacy
Skills/experience we are looking for:
1 - 3 years of experience in Credit Risk, Regulatory Risk Management
Preferred experience in counterparty credit risk or Basel III regulation and its application within a large financial institution
Organized, process-oriented and attentive to detail, with ability to work on multiple projects under demanding timelines
Strong quantitative and analytical skills and experience with data manipulation/analysis
Familiarity with investment banking products including loan products and derivatives
Ability to comfortably and effectively interact with people across many different areas of the firm and various levels of seniority
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other software
