RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS DUTIES: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Multiple positions available. Design and build customized client-facing scenario analytics and marketing materials, utilizing understanding of pricing models of products and market model assumptions that model the clients' actual positions and hypothetical changes in the market environment; design and build performance calculations for specific businesses, including incorporating the appropriate quantitative calculation methodology, building the mathematical performance attribution logic and providing the appropriate performance benchmarking; build, maintain and test allocation and portfolio management tools used by trading desks to streamline allocation and portfolio management processes across various asset classes; our desks use these tools to allocate product offerings such as initial public offerings, and manage orders and positions in thousands of accounts simultaneously; utilize deep knowledge of fixed income products, equities and equity derivatives as well as financial and mathematical models to develop asset-class-specific solutions; develop quantitative analytics and tools regarding risk management and suitability concerns on client portfolios, formulate relevant metrics, scenarios and reporting, and advise senior business and risk managers accordingly.
Job Requirements: Ph.D. (US or foreign equivalent) in Business, Operations Research, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or in a related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Must have two (2) years of work or research fellowship experience with: performing advanced statistical and econometric analysis, including supervised and unsupervised learning, regression analysis, and time series analysis to analyze datasets; solving heavily computational problems, grid computing and messaging, and working with large-data volumes; performing quantitative research with scientific computation software such as MATLAB, R, or STATA; and implementing new computer programs using Python or C++. Must have one (1) year of experience: working in the financial services industry; articulating complex financial and mathematical concepts and analysis to traders, portfolio managers and senior management; performing pricing and risk analysis on vanilla and exotic derivatives portfolios; building portfolio optimization tools using Axioma; performing performance attribution and scenario analysis on multi-asset portfolios; using SQL to efficiently query and manipulate data in databases; utilizing knowledge of financial mathematics including stochastic processes, derivatives pricing, probability, Monte-Carlo simulations and numerical methods to perform risk analysis on derivatives. FINRA licenses required: Series 7 and Series 66.
