The Graduate School of Business and Public Policy (GSBPP) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) seeks applicants for various intermittent adjunct lecturers for both in-person and online management-related courses. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in our MBA and the M.S. programs on an as-needed basis. In-person, resident, courses are taught on the NPS campus in Monterey, CA. Online courses may be taught from distant locations, and duty location is negotiable upon selection. Online course instructors may negotiate their duty location upon selection. Applicants should have completed an advanced degree in relevant disciplines such as organizational communication, rhetoric, organizational behavior, leadership, ethics and strategy. Applicants should have proven experience in teaching at either the undergraduate or graduate level and excellent teaching evaluations.
Intermittent refers to a work schedule that is less than full-time and is scheduled irregularly to meet specific instructional tasks or deliverables. The duration of employment is dependent on continuous external funding, and could terminate on a short notice.
NPS is the nation’s premier defense related graduate university. The GSBPP has over 70 full-time faculty and about 300 full-time graduate students, most of whom are military officers, and approximately 300 distant learning students (military officers and Department of Defense civilian employees).

A master’s degree in a management-related discipline, but preference will be given to PhDs.
Ability to teach either managerial communication, ethics, organizational behavior, leadership or ethics or strategy.
Proven teaching effectiveness (either as a dedicated course or within a broader course)
