Business Unit Risk Management (BURM) is looking for an individual to join our team in London. BURM has three main silos: counterparty risk, negotiation risk and non-market risk.
Responsibilities for this role will concentrate (though not exclusively) on non-market risk covering the Equity Derivatives business, specifically ensuring that Sales & Trading maximize risk-adjusted returns by:
Setting up and enforcing appropriate policies and procedures for business processes;
Making sure systems and infrastructure are put in place that allow for the efficient execution, monitoring and analysis of those processes;
Working with Financial Engineers, Quant Strat Team, Information Technology on further improving functionality across different equity derivatives products
Implementing appropriate governance including committees and MI to senior S&T management;
Making decisions on business risks including operational risk, employee errors, regulatory risk, etc.
Other duties include:
Regular and ad-hoc communication to Senior Management
Working with Operations to streamline processes
Participation in Client Selection Process and approval of new business
Participation in New Product Approval process
Regulatory work in context of OTC Mandatory Minimum Margin, MIFID 2, ad-hoc requests of Regulators.
Product knowledge in Equity Derivatives including options, variance / volatility swaps, exotics and bespoke strategies
Relevant prior experience in a similar risk role or through trading Equity Derivatives
Sound numerical skills, preferably a degree in a quantitative subject
Strong motivation to be a self-starter with a positive outlook and desire to solve problems
Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows
Solid understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner and thrive in a fast-paced environment that lends itself to changing priorities and quick turnaround
Enjoying team work across different divisions, functions and disciplines in a fast paced environment
