The State Authorization Compliance Coordinator will complete research, analysis and reports in the area of state authorization in order to maintain compliance with State, National, and International distance education regulations. The position will collaborate with University stakeholders to ensure compliance for the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations governing any and all out of state educational activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (15 or less):
Research state and national laws and regulations relating to state authorization
Complete research for individual existing and potential programs
Gather University and program information and data needed to complete state authorization applications from all areas within the university
Communicate/collaborate with state authorization officials in other states, territories, and countries
Communicate/collaborate with program coordinators & colleges related to any requirements for out of state educational activities
Review current and potential student locations to ensure compliance
Collaborate with University stakeholders to ensure University compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Maintain a database and website(s) on state authorization and communicate all changes appropriately
Maintain and publish university state authorization approval or exemption status and required consumer disclosures on the State Authorization website.
Build, maintain and update website for student complaint processes for all out of state students and their respective complaint processes, THECB student complaint process and SHREB complaint process.
Submit all trigger activities for NC-SARA member states or non-NC- SARA member states to NC-SARA.
Maintains and publishes university state authorization approval or exemption status and required consumer disclosures on the state authorization websites;
Educates academic units in regards to state authorization requirements for conducting trigger activities in accordance with applicable law and provides state authorization resources to units
Informs TAMUC units, and university leadership of state actions against the university, state or federal regulatory changes, NC-SARA policy changes, and the impact on current approvals or exemptions.

Education: Master's degree in educational administration, public administration, public policy, or a related field (or Bachelorâ™s degree and two years of related experience may be accepted in place of a Masterâ™s degree).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year experience applying and/or interpreting state or federal laws and regulations. Individual must have strong analytical, research and writing skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
Ability to: Multi-task and demonstrated ability to work both independently and work in a team environment
